OUR STORY

AMCO Gymnastics, your one stop shop for everything gymnastics!

Amco Gymnastics was founded in 1983 by Arlette and Michael Ulrich. Originating from Switzerland and with all three of their children participating in gymnastics in Melbourne, when the need for hand guards (grips) arose they contacted Reisport, a Swiss company, and as a result the idea to supply gymnastics apparatus to the community was born.

Starting as a small business operating out of their home, the focus was on the smaller gymnastics needs, hand guards and gym shoes. They then branched out into Rhythmic Gymnastics apparatus and the manufacturing of leotards.

In 1997, having grown to such an extent, they moved the business from their home to a warehouse in Clayton Victoria and their son, Pascal came on board to take the business to the next level.

Pascal introduced the equipment side of gymnastics to the business, starting with Tumbl Trak from the U.S and then, in 2010 AMCO became the Australian Representative for Spieth, a world class gymnastics equipment manufacturer, supplying many Olympic Games, World Championships and European Championships.

Amco is very proud to be a major partner with Gymnastics Australia, Gymnastics Queensland, and Gymnastics Victoria, supplying equipment for their events since 2016. With the pinnacle being the supply of the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Installing the first gymnastics club in Australia with full Spieth equipment in 2012, we have continued to work with clubs around the country, transforming their gyms into World Class facilities. The Sydney Gymnastics and Aquatic Centre in Rooty Hill has been our largest project to date being the largest gymnastics facility in the Southern Hemisphere.

Amco has kept the values that were very important to its founder, Arlette, with customer service being our top priority. With both Pascal and his wife Nicole being gymnasts themselves and Nicole being a coach and club manager for over 20 years, their experience within the sport is second to none.
